Invitation to visit the exhibition of Vilnius Region Palms and Kaziukas Fair Gingerbreads

Vilnius District Municipality presents a unique exhibition about the symbols of traditional spring festivals – Vilnius region palms and Kaziukas fair gingerbread. The exhibition will be opened from March 21^th until 18^th of April 2021, at the Church of St. Joseph (Tolminkiemio str. 4, Vilnius). Come and see the exceptional cultural heritage of Vilnius region.

We invite you to visit the exhibition every Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (except for the duration of the mass).

During the exhibition you will get to know the legends, spells, proverbs related to these symbols and their origin. Also, you probably meet craftswomen whose tell you more about traditional palms techniques. Therefore, quite deservedly, in 2019, the “Tradition of Tying Palms in Vilnius Region” was included in the Compendium of Lithuanian Cultural Heritage Values.
