Mayor Maria Rekst: I invite the people to show solidarity and pray together for peace in Ukraine and around the world

In view of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, The Mayor of Vilnius District Municipality Marija Rekst expresses solidarity and support for Ukrainian people. Condemning the military action, the mayor invites everyone to show solidarity and pray for peace in Ukraine and around the world during this turbulent time.

"We express our full support for the Ukrainian nation as a sovereign country and are ready to assist for Ukraine during this difficult and anxious time. I invite everyone to pray for peace in Ukraine and around the world. Let us be united in prayer for a common objective – life in peace. With our thoughts and prayers, we stand together with Ukrainians", – the mayor of Vilnius district invites to show solidarity.

After the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Vilnius District Municipality cancels all planned Užgavėnės celebrations and other events.
